SURF In Hokkaido there are many good surf spots. You can surf all year round if you don't mind suiting up with snow on the ground. The summer season or should I say when the water gets warm enough for a good 5/3 wetsuit with no booites, gloves and a hood is from June to the beginning of October. It must be said that Hokkaido isn't a place to come to surf but if you combine it with a bit of camping and fishing it can quite rewarding. You'll be suprised how good it can get and how uncrowded it can be if you stay way from the "main breaks".
